Reports indicate that the inheritance tax may officially be implemented in 2016! The "Revised Draft" amended in 2010 (not yet implemented) specifies the thresholds, corresponding tax rates, and calculation methods for the inheritance tax:
The tax rate for a taxable estate net worth not exceeding 800,000 is 0;
For amounts exceeding 800,000 to 2,000,000, the tax is 20% minus a deduction of 50,000;
For amounts exceeding 2,000,000 to 5,000,000, the tax is 30% minus a deduction of 250,000;
For amounts exceeding 5,000,000 to 10,000,000, the tax is 40% minus a deduction of 750,000;
For amounts exceeding 10,000,000, the tax is 50% minus a deduction of 1,750,000.
According to the above calculation methods, the taxable amount for an estate of 5,000,000 should be 1,250,000, while for 10,000,000 and 30,000,000, the taxes should be 3,250,000 and 13,250,000 respectively!
Nowadays, a house in a big city is worth millions, which means that the inheritance tax is closely related to every family. The most critical point is that the inheritance tax must be paid in cash within three months, or it will be confiscated or auctioned. It is clear that the implementation of the inheritance tax will have a significant impact on the general public, especially high-net-worth individuals.
The Inheritance Tax is Coming, Immigration to Saint Kitts is a Smart Way to Avoid It
How should wealthy individuals reasonably avoid the impending inheritance tax? Generally, purchasing real estate, buying insurance, and immigrating abroad are three common strategies, with immigration being the most popular. By immigrating, establishing offshore companies and financial accounts can transfer assets to regions that do not impose inheritance tax or have lower inheritance tax rates, thus achieving better asset allocation and wealth inheritance.
Saint Kitts, located in the Caribbean, is a member of the Commonwealth and has always been a top offshore financial center and tax haven. There is no inheritance tax here, and it also exempts foreign income tax, capital gains tax, gift tax, and more. In 1984, Saint Kitts established an investment citizenship program, becoming one of the first countries in the world to implement such a program. Over the years, with stable policies, fast and convenient applications, tax haven status, Commonwealth passport, and no immigration monitoring, the small island of Saint Kitts has become the preferred immigration destination for the global wealthy.
Saint Kitts Central Business District Project Supports Upgrades
Investors can obtain citizenship in Saint Kitts through two methods: one is to donate $250,000 to the Sugar Industry Diversification Fund; the other is to purchase government-designated real estate projects worth over $400,000. Currently, the Saint Kitts Immigration Citizenship Central Business District Project, exclusively represented by Worldway, is the first commercial real estate project since the investment citizenship program was launched in 1984, and it is also the only commercial center in Saint Kitts at present. An investor can invest over $400,000 to acquire a commercial space in the Central Business District, and the developer will lease it back for ten years, with a return rate of up to 4% in the first five years, while the developer provides a guaranteed minimum return for the second five years, allowing investors to hold the property at no additional cost. Facing the impending inheritance tax, immigrating to Saint Kitts helps you avoid it reasonably. For more policy details, please consult: 400-138-2929
