Guinea-Bissau President Vaz signed a presidential decree on the 7th, approving the list of new cabinet members submitted by Prime Minister Baciro Djá.
The cabinet list submitted by Baciro Djá includes 16 ministers and 15 secretaries of state, totaling 31 members, including 4 women. However, the position of Minister of Finance remains vacant, and no official explanation has been provided.
At the inauguration ceremony of the new cabinet, Vaz called on the new government to combat corruption and increase productivity. Baciro Djá stated that he would consult with the President to implement various tasks.
Vaz announced the dissolution of the cabinet led by former Prime Minister Pereira on August 12, which triggered protests from the African Party for the Independence of Guinea and Cape Verde (PAIGC), the majority party in the country's parliament. This led to a political crisis lasting several weeks. On August 20, Vaz appointed Baciro Djá, the former Minister of the Council of Ministers and Parliamentary Affairs, as the new Prime Minister.
