New data for the Greece Golden Visa is now available, and Chinese investors continue to lead the pack. Nearly half of all first-time approved primary applicants and their family members are from China, further indicating that the Greece Golden Visa remains highly favored by Chinese families.

New data highlights:
The popularity of the Greece Golden Visa continues to grow.
According to official statistics, between 2022 and February 2026, the Greece Golden Visa program received a total of 38,605 applications, of which 27,462 have been approved, with 10,796 currently in process.
Of these, 7,893 Golden Visa applications were received between February 25, 2025, and February 26, 2026, with 2,492 already approved. China remains one of the countries with the highest number of Golden Visa holders.

Chinese applicants hold the top position firmly.
In terms of nationality, Chinese applicants continue to hold a dominant lead. Official data shows that as of February 2026, among the primary Golden Visa applicants, 10,593 are Chinese nationals, accounting for 48.1%. Among the family members of investors, 21,718 are Chinese nationals, accounting for 49.7%.
This means that whether considering primary applicants or family members, Chinese families account for nearly half of the total. The signal conveyed by this data is clear: the Greece Golden Visa is no longer an option requiring further hesitation, but a mature program consistently chosen and validated by a large number of Chinese families.

Why does Greece continue to attract Chinese families?
For many families, pursuing overseas status planning is not just about "obtaining a status;" it is about balancing family futures, children's education arrangements, convenience for travel in Europe, and the global allocation of assets.
The reason the Greece Golden Visa remains attractive is that it combines both "status functions" and "asset functions:" on one hand, a European residence status; on the other, a vehicle for real estate investment, with both considered within the same framework. Combined with the long-standing leading proportion of Chinese applicants and high market recognition, it naturally becomes a key focus for high-net-worth families.
Currently, the most sought-after route for the Greece Golden Visa remains the investment threshold from 250,000 Euros. Investors can complete their configuration of Greek status through "commercial-to-residential" projects that meet policy requirements.
However, high-quality "commercial-to-residential" properties that truly meet policy requirements and can proceed with transfers quickly are currently limited in the market. For interested families, planning early, screening projects early, and initiating the process early are often more conducive to a smooth completion of status and asset allocation.
