Follow Antigua and Barbuda Immigration to get closer to local life: On February 12, 2010, Ambassador to Antigua and Barbuda Chen Ligang, braving the heat, drove to visit the construction sites of the Jiangsu Construction Group's road lighting project, the Beijing Construction Engineering Group's 30MW power plant project, the Beijing Construction Engineering Group's Grace Reservoir maintenance project, and the China Civil Engineering Group's cricket stadium technical cooperation project.
Upon seeing the workers of the road lighting project team working hard under the scorching sun to install 1,572 street lamps across 17 roads throughout Antigua and Barbuda, Ambassador Chen praised them for their perseverance and dedication, calling them the messengers of "light" for the country. Ambassador Chen then visited the power plant project site, where workers were still busy with construction. He fully affirmed their commitment to safe production and high-quality work, and carefully inspected the workers' living and working conditions. When Ambassador Chen arrived among the workers of the Grace Reservoir project, they gathered around him to listen attentively as he explained the importance of the reservoir project for safe drinking water for the residents of St. John's, the capital of Antigua and Barbuda, and the surrounding communities. As night fell, Ambassador Chen, despite his fatigue, visited the site of the cricket stadium technical cooperation project to convey the greetings of the people of the motherland to the Chinese workers involved in the second phase of the project, expressing his appreciation for their dedication to their posts and their commitment to training local technical talent in Antigua and Barbuda. Ambassador Chen also inquired about the holiday arrangements, food quality, and access to the Spring Festival Gala for the workers of all Chinese-funded institutions.
