Recently, the Portuguese Immigration and Borders Service (SEF) released the Golden Visa data for November 2022. In November 2022, a total of 121 main applicants and 138 dependent applicants were approved for the Portuguese Golden Visa, with an investment volume of 65.65 million euros. Among them, 18 main applicants were from the United States, ranking first, followed by the United Kingdom (14), China (13), Brazil (10), and Africa (10).
In terms of investment methods, among all those approved in November 2022, 95 applicants chose real estate investment projects, meaning they obtained the Golden Visa through property purchases, with an investment volume of 54.62 million euros. Of this, 42.264 million euros flowed into the 500,000-euro property investment program, and 12.3562 million euros flowed into the 350,000-euro renovation project.
In addition, the Portuguese Immigration and Borders Service has also updated the overall data since the launch of the Golden Residence policy in October 2012. Data shows that as of the end of November this year, 11,384 main applicants have been approved for the Portuguese Golden Visa, along with 18,617 dependent applicants. Among them, Chinese families account for half of the total, with 5,222 families approved, representing approximately 46%, which demonstrates the favor and recognition Chinese investors have for the Portuguese immigration program. Furthermore, through the Golden Residence program, Portugal has attracted a total of 6.674 billion euros in investment, of which 5.981 billion euros was invested directly into the real estate market.
