According to reports from the Civil Aviation Administration of China website (http://www.caac.gov.cn/) and as reposted by the Chinese government website (http://www.gov.cn), on September 18, Zhou Haicheng, the Chinese Ambassador to Vanuatu, representing the Civil Aviation Administration of China, and Prime Minister Charlot Salwai of Vanuatu initialed a Memorandum of Understanding on Civil Air Transport between China and Vanuatu in Port Vila. Officials from the Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vanuatu, and other relevant departments, as well as local media reporters, attended the signing ceremony. The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding will help promote the development of Vanuatu's civil aviation and tourism sectors, attracting more tourists from China and other countries to visit.
Vanuatu is located in the southwestern Pacific Ocean, part of the Melanesian archipelago, and consists of approximately 80 islands (68 of which are inhabited). Almost every one of Vanuatu's 80+ islands has its own unique characteristics. In particular, Mount Yasur on Tanna Island is known as the world's "most accessible volcano." Visitors can stand on the edge of the crater and watch the volcano spewing smoke and fire beneath their feet, as the magma erupted here mostly rises and falls vertically, rarely spraying outside the crater. People often consider witnessing these "fireworks set off by God" as a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The South Pacific features white sands like silver and vast expanses of blue waves. The azure sky and clear blue seawater reflect the beautiful coastline. During the day, you can see schools of fish playing in the water, and at night, you can witness the spectacular sight of lobsters emerging from the water in groups, glowing with green light, which is quite beautiful. Vanuatu's diverse cuisine, including seafood, French fine dining, and Chinese food—especially the coconut crab—is well worth trying and will provide you with the ultimate sensory enjoyment.
Nature has been generous to Vanuatu, providing it not only with fertile land but also with diverse tourism resources. Currently, the tourism industry has become an important pillar of Vanuatu's national economy. The colorful traditional culture and diverse natural resources are the major features and potential advantages of Vanuatu's tourism industry, which holds broad market prospects.
In 2016, Vanuatu legislated the Investment Citizenship Program—the Contribution Program. Foreign nationals can quickly obtain a Vanuatu passport by making a donation to the Vanuatu government, becoming Vanuatu citizens and enjoying the same rights to live, study, reside, and work as local citizens. The Vanuatu passport is highly sought after by high-net-worth individuals due to its low investment amount, fast approval, simple documentation, direct citizenship, favorable tax system, and visa-free access to numerous countries and regions. In April 2018, the Vanuatu government amended the bill, significantly lowering the threshold for investment citizenship. The investment amount for a single applicant was reduced from the original $130,000 to the current $80,000. The amendment has been effective since April 27, 2018.
Advantages of the Vanuatu Passport Program
1. Starting from an investment of $80,000, three generations of a family can apply for a Commonwealth passport;
2. Fully supported by the Vanuatu government, with easy background checks and fast approval, generally taking about 6-8 weeks;
3. No immigration supervision, no requirement to land, and simple passport renewal;
4. Visa-free, visa-on-arrival, or e-visa access to nearly 130 countries and regions, including EU countries such as the UK, France, Germany, and Italy, as well as Asian countries and regions such as Hong Kong (China), Singapore, and Malaysia, making travel convenient;
5. Eligible children can enjoy free, authentic British-style education in Vanuatu. If returning to China for further studies as an international student, those who meet the criteria can easily enroll in top domestic universities without written exams. Most Commonwealth countries recognize each other's academic credits, allowing for transfers to other Commonwealth countries for study;
6. Favorable tax system with no personal income tax, corporate tax, capital gains tax, or inheritance tax, and no global taxation;
7. Beautiful environment, a vacation paradise.
