Recently, the global expat association Inter Nations released its 2019 Expat Insider survey report on the living and working conditions of expatriates, announcing the ranking of the most livable countries for expats. In this ranking, Portugal secured the third position due to its high quality of life and comfortable living environment, making it the top-ranked European country for expatriates.
The survey interviewed 20,259 expatriates from 182 countries and regions, asking them to provide information on various aspects of their lives, as well as their gender, age, and nationality. This survey is considered a comprehensive study on overseas study and work, covering information on quality of life, ease of settling in, working conditions, personal finance, cost of living, and family life.
According to the survey, Portugal's quality of life is excellent (ranked 1st), and its lifestyle is very relaxed (ranked 2nd): more than four-fifths (83%) of expats are satisfied with their social and leisure activities (global average is 65%), and almost every expat (95%) is very satisfied with the climate (global average is 61%).
