Attention travelers to the United States! If you want to enter the United States, do not bring these items!
Excessive powdered substances are not allowed in carry-on luggage on flights to the United States
Recently, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has issued new regulations, requiring enhanced inspections of powdered substances carried by passengers on flights to the United States that are greater than or equal to 350 milliliters (approximately the size of a soda can). If passengers cannot clearly explain to TSA officials what the powder is, TSA may force passengers to discard the powdered substance or place it in checked luggage.
According to the new regulations, common items such as instant coffee, baking powder, flour, milk powder, high-protein foods, as well as laundry detergent, talcum powder, cosmetics, and other daily necessities are included in the restricted category. However, certified medicinal powders and those checked by airlines and deemed non-hazardous can still be carried into the cabin. Additionally, powdered duty-free items purchased at duty-free shops, if properly sealed in security bags, can also be brought into the cabin.
This new security measure targets cross-border flights directly to the United States. Not only will U.S. airports strictly enforce the new regulations, but TSA will also begin requiring foreign airports responsible for security checks of passengers traveling to the United States to do the same.
Beijing Capital International Airport, Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, Hong Kong International Airport, Narita International Airport in Japan, and Incheon International Airport in South Korea all have direct flights to U.S. cities and will be affected by the new regulations.
Entry security inspection policies are becoming increasingly strict, please arrive at the airport early
In fact, the United States has been strengthening security measures related to entry and exit. Earlier this year, the Department of Homeland Security announced new regulations for searching travelers' electronic devices at the border. According to the new regulations, law enforcement officers can broadly search the luggage of travelers entering and exiting the United States, including electronic devices (tablets, external hard drives, tapes, mobile phones, cameras, and music players), and require travelers to provide passwords. If necessary, devices and related information can be detained.
Additionally, at the request of the U.S. government, all flights to the United States have implemented new security measures since October 2017, conducting stricter security checks on passengers, including brief security interviews.
Below is a list of restricted and prohibited items and important notes:
1. Biological products: Biological products with an import permit from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention can be carried.
2. Books, audio-visual materials, computer programs, and tapes: Pirated copies are strictly prohibited.
3. Fruits, vegetables, and plants: All agricultural products must be declared to customs officials and inspected. Nuts must be shelled to enter the country.
4. Meat, livestock, and poultry: These meat products are generally prohibited from entry unless they are commercially packaged canned products. Items such as zongzi, cured meats, smoked meats, pickled meats, sausages, jerky, ham, roasted duck, and meat floss should not be considered.
5. Game: A permit is required for hunting trophies.
6. Currency: Amounts exceeding $10,000 must be declared to customs (per family).
7. Pets: Primates such as monkeys and apes, as well as snails, are not allowed to enter. Cats and dogs require quarantine certificates.
8. Fish and wildlife.
9. Cultural heritage and antiques: Must have export permits or similar documentation issued by the country of origin.
Additionally, chat records should also be checked, and emojis should be used with caution. If there are chat records involving "working" or similar topics, it is advisable to delete them in advance, as there is a risk of being deported!
Increasingly strict security policies mean longer security check times and more people in line. Therefore, it is recommended that travelers to the United States arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before their flight to allow for extra security check time.
WorldWay Immigration Warm Reminder: Know the entry restrictions for smooth travel

When entering another country, travelers should inquire in advance with the official agencies of the destination country and region about the relevant regulations and carry luggage as required. Travelers to the United States should place powdered substances greater than or equal to 350 milliliters in checked luggage and cooperate with security checks.
