Following the issuance of the Malta Citizenship and Passport Investment Immigration Act in early 2014, the Malta Residence and Visa Program (L.N. 288, 2015) was announced on August 25, 2015, which is the Malta Government Bonds Immigration Program. Applicants only need to complete a government-designated investment of €250,000 in government bonds, while also purchasing or leasing a property that meets government requirements and holding it for more than 5 years, in order to obtain a renewable residence permit for themselves and their entire family across four generations in one step.
1. Application Requirements
(1) The main applicant must be at least 18 years old, with an annual income equivalent to €100,000 or total assets equivalent to €500,000.
(2) Invest in the purchase of €250,000 worth of Malta government bonds for a period of 5 years.
