The WorldWay Immigration Group kindly reminds you! The age limit for accompanying children of Canadian immigrants has changed. Families wishing to immigrate to Canada with their children should take note! Applications submitted between May 3 and October 23 of this year, or applications submitted before October 24 that have not yet been processed, and where the applicant did not include their children previously, must inform the immigration department by January 31, 2018, otherwise, they will miss this opportunity!
Of course, there is one more point to note: it is best for the applicant's accompanying children to be between the ages of 19 and 22 at the time of application submission or on May 3 of this year, unmarried or not in a common-law relationship, and not prohibited from entering Canada, so they can apply for immigration to Canada with their parents.
The Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, which was amended by the Canadian federal immigration department, officially came into effect on October 24, 2017. One of the highlights is the definition of the age of dependent children for family reunification immigration, which has been relaxed from "under 19 years old" to "under 22 years old" for unmarried children accompanying their parents immigrating to Canada. This change will apply to all immigration and refugee applicants. Additionally, children over 22 years old who still depend on their parents due to physical or mental reasons can also apply for immigration to Canada with their parents.
The definition of dependent children by the Canadian immigration department:
1. The child is the child of the applicant or the applicant's spouse;
2. The child is under 22 years of age;
3. The child is unmarried;
4. If the child is studying and has exceeded 22 years of age, they must prove that they began full-time studies before turning 22 and are fully financially dependent on their parents;
5. The child has a disability and must prove that they were fully financially dependent on their parents before turning 22.
If the above conditions are met, they can immigrate with their parents. For Canadian provincial nominee applicants, the child's age is determined by the date the provincial immigration office receives the complete application, while for federal immigration categories, it is determined by the date the federal immigration department receives the application.
Experts from the WorldWay Immigration Group indicate that many Canadian immigration applicants previously gave up on immigration due to their children's age exceeding the limit, and the number is not small. Now, with the implementation of the new regulations, it is undoubtedly a great opportunity for applicants with children aged 19 to 22.
Recently, Canada has introduced a series of favorable policies, including a plan to accept one million immigrants over three years, increasing immigration quotas, adding seven visa centers in China, and relaxing the age limit for dependent children, demonstrating the Canadian government's open and welcoming attitude towards immigration. It is currently a golden period for processing Canadian investment immigration.
Currently, the WorldWay Immigration Group offers low-threshold investment immigration programs in Quebec that allow for immediate acquisition of a permanent resident card, low-threshold investment immigration programs in Saskatchewan and Manitoba that allow for quick landing, as well as investment immigration programs in Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick that allow for immediate acquisition of a permanent resident card, helping investors realize their dreams of moving to Canada and establishing a second home abroad.
