Today, we introduce six of the most noteworthy higher education institutions in Greece, which you can screen and apply to based on your children's individual circumstances.
1. National and Kapodistrian University of Athens
The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens is the oldest and most influential university in Greece. Founded in 1837, it boasts a history of over 200 years. At its inception, it was known as Othonian University and consisted of only four faculties—Engineering, Law, Medicine, and Arts—with 33 professors, 52 regular students, and 75 auditing students. It was renamed in 1932. In 1841, a new campus building was constructed under the guidance of a Danish architect, and new types of classes were introduced. As the number of disciplines grew, the student body expanded annually. Currently, there are 92,000 students and 2,000 faculty members across six schools, including Political Science, Medicine, Philosophy, Law, Sciences, and Theology.
