In recent years, the number of Chinese investors immigrating to Ireland has been increasing. As the cultural, economic, and trade relations between China and Ireland continue to develop more closely, there is an urgent demand for higher education institutions in Ireland to research, study, and promote Chinese culture and language. Recently, Chinese Ambassador to Ireland Xu Jianguo was invited to attend and deliver a speech at the inaugural meeting of the Irish Association for Chinese Teaching.
Ambassador Xu stated that over the past few years, thanks to the hard work of all teachers at the two Confucius Institutes in Ireland and the strong support and participation of people from all walks of life in Ireland, the cause of Chinese language and cultural education has developed rapidly in Ireland. On behalf of the Chinese Embassy in Ireland, he expressed full affirmation and heartfelt gratitude for the achievements of the Confucius Institutes. The establishment of the Irish Association for Chinese Teaching is of great significance. The Chinese Embassy is willing to serve as a strong backing to help Chinese language teachers elevate the dissemination of Chinese language and culture in Ireland to a new height.
