According to a report by Canada Ming Pao, on November 19, Canadian Federal Immigration Minister John McCallum stated in an exclusive interview that the Liberal Party will fulfill its immigration policy commitments made during the election one by one, and specifically proposed three major priority projects to lower immigration thresholds and continuously optimize immigration policies.
International students can count their time in Canada towards citizenship
McCallum pointed out that the first commitment to be promoted is to abolish the provisions in the "New Citizenship Act" that classify citizens into tiers, ensuring that all rights enjoyed by citizens are the same.
Another priority policy is that the new government will restore the regulations regarding the time international students and temporary residents spend in Canada before becoming permanent residents. In the future, international students and those holding temporary resident visas, when they successfully apply to become permanent residents, can count the time they lived in Canada before becoming permanent residents towards their citizenship application, up to a maximum of two years, calculated at a ratio of 50%, meaning the maximum counted residence time is one year, thus encouraging international students, especially those with suitable professional skills, to stay in Canada for development.
"Express Entry" applicants with family members can receive additional points
As for the third priority policy, the Immigration Department will give additional points to "Express Entry" applicants who have family members already in Canada. McCallum stated that the "Express Entry" system, which just started earlier this year, will continue to operate, and hopes to allow applicants with family members to receive additional points to assist them in their immigration applications.
He expressed that the Liberal Party believes that those who already have siblings living in Canada and are applicants for Canadian immigration will have a higher chance of successful development in the future, and the effect may be similar to that of having a job offer, and since the system gives additional points to those with job offers, there is no reason not to give additional points to applicants with family members.
With the end of the Canadian election and the Liberal Party coming to power with an open policy, the industry generally believes that Canadian immigration will welcome a historic opportunity. Among them, the Manitoba Provincial Investment Immigration Program, known as the golden channel for immigration to Canada, has become the first choice for many immigrants due to its multiple advantages.
Basic requirements for applying for the Manitoba Provincial Investment Immigration:
◆ Must be at least 18 years old, with no abnormal records;
◆ Must have assets of at least 350,000 Canadian dollars;
◆ Must have at least 3 years of business management experience;
◆ Applicants must score no less than 60 points on the EOI adaptability scoring criteria;
◆ Must invest 150,000 Canadian dollars in a business after immigration.
Worldway Immigration Experts state that the Manitoba Provincial Investment Immigration Program has low entry asset requirements, a small investment amount, and a fast processing speed, making it one of the relatively easier provinces for immigration in Canada. Choosing this program can quickly obtain a permanent resident card. For more details, please consult: 400-138-2929
