Canada Immigration focuses on Canadian Immigration Life: The 2nd Canada International Film and Television Festival concluded on the afternoon of the 8th in Vancouver.
Zhang Xiaomin, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Canada International Film and Television Festival and Dean of the Canadian Film and Television Academy, told Xinhua News Agency that Canada is an immigrant country characterized by inclusiveness, tolerance, and multiculturalism. Hosting an international film and television festival in Vancouver, a Canadian city with multicultural characteristics, provides an opportunity for people of different ethnicities to showcase their films and appreciate each other's cultures.
It is understood that this year's film and television festival featured over 100 films from five continents. The festival also awarded more than ten "Golden Jaguar Awards" for categories such as Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Screenplay, and Lifetime Artistic Achievement.
Zhang Xiaomin stated that although this multicultural film and television festival has only been held twice, it has already received support from many Hollywood stars and leading film and television professionals in North America. The works from developing countries in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia were also fully showcased at this year's festival.
During the three-day film and television festival, filmmakers and artists from North America and Asia held several thematic seminars, including "Disruption and Change in the Future of Film," "How Filmmakers Can Win Awards at International Film Festivals," and "How Multiculturalism Can Survive Under the Globalization of Hollywood?" They also organized the first Multicultural Youth Film Festival, providing a platform for young filmmakers and students to interact with Hollywood stars and experienced filmmakers.
