China News Service, September 28—According to a report by Singapore's Lianhe Zaobao, as this year's Mid-Autumn Festival fell on a Sunday, Singapore's Chinatown held a large-scale 2015 lantern parade. 3,000 people carrying lanterns walked from Chinatown Square to New Bridge Road to celebrate the festival together. The majority of participants were families, with elders and children alike, spending a truly meaningful evening together.
In addition to four mascots representing goodwill that heated up the atmosphere, nearly 80 performance artists dressed in various costumes lined the route, walking on stilts, singing and dancing, or playing gongs and drums.
The lively scene also attracted many members of the public in the Chinatown area to stop and watch. Some non-ethnic Chinese residents and foreign tourists also brought their own traditional paper lanterns or translucent colored paper lanterns to participate in the festivities in a harmonious atmosphere.
