These photos were discarded in the 1970s and 1980s, a time when many WWI veterans were passing away, and their letters, old photographs, and memorabilia were discarded along with them, which gave Bob the opportunity to come into contact with these items. Undoubtedly, these photographs are a massive historical treasure and serve as primary source material for reconstructing the history of World War I.

The British newspaper "Daily Mail" once offered to purchase these photos for 30 pounds each, but Bob stated that he does not value them for their market worth, but rather because he has saved a piece of history that is significant yet easily forgotten. At the same time, he has no intention of donating these photos to a museum, because museums only preserve them, and they would soon be forgotten as if they had never been discovered at all.
