Living in Latvia through Immigration: According to a report by the LETA news agency on June 11, the Latvian Parliament urgently passed tax law amendments that day, allowing fish processing enterprises that have suffered losses due to Russia's suspension and ban on fish product imports to defer tax payments. The amendments stipulate that if Russia's import ban measures continue, a tax deferral period of one to five years will be granted, depending on the consequences caused. Latvian Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma stated that this tax payment deferral is the first support measure taken by the government for the fishing sector.
