In Saint Kitts, we are familiar with SCOTIABANK, CIBC, also known locally as FIRST CARIBBEAN INTERNATIONAL BANK, and ROYAL BANK. In addition, there are some local banks, including the ST. KITTS - NEVIS - ANGUILLA NATIONAL BANK and the BANK OF NEVIS in Nevis.
Account opening requirements:
1. The account holder must have Saint Kitts and Nevis citizenship or hold a student/work visa;
2. The account holder must be present in Saint Kitts and Nevis;
Materials required for account opening:
1. Saint Kitts and Nevis passport;
2. Photo identification, such as an ID card or driver's license (if providing Chinese documents, translation and notarization are required);
3. Birth certificate (translation and notarization required);
4. Proof of address, such as utility bills or bank statements (translation and notarization required);
5. Bank reference letter;
6. Professional reference letter (must be accompanied by the professional's license, such as a lawyer's license).
All of the above materials are generally applicable for submitting immigration documents for Saint Kitts and Nevis, but it is important to note the validity period. For example, proof of address must be within the last three months, and the bank reference letter and professional reference letter must be the most recent.
Bank selection:
Recommended: SCOTIABANK
Reason: As long as the documents are complete, clients can go directly to the bank to open an account without an appointment.
Lawyer recommendation: ST. KITTS - NEVIS - ANGUILLA NATIONAL BANK
Reason: The lawyer has a cooperative relationship with the bank.
Not recommended: CIBC / FIRST CARIBBEAN INTERNATIONAL BANK
Reason: The bank requires at least two days of background checks on the account holder.
Not recommended: ROYAL BANK
Reason: There is no dedicated consultant or assistance for account opening procedures.
Neutral: BANK OF NEVIS
Reason: Since the bank is located in Nevis, clients generally stay in Saint Kitts for a long time; Nevis is only briefly visited. However, the account opening procedures at the bank are not complicated.
