U.S. Investment Immigration focuses on Life in the U.S.: According to preliminary statistics, U.S. uranium concentrate production increased by 16% in 2013, reaching a high level not seen since 1997.

Data released by the U.S. Department of Energy's Energy Information Administration (EIA) indicates that the total uranium production last year was 4.81 million pounds of uranium oxide (1,850 tons of uranium). The total production in 2012 was 4.14 million pounds of uranium oxide (1,592 tons of uranium).
Since 2011, U.S. uranium production has increased by 21% with the startup of three production facilities (two started in 2011 and one in 2013). The uranium produced in the U.S. in 2013 came from the White Mesa uranium mill in Utah and six in-situ recovery uranium mines: Alta Mesa and Hobson/La Palangana in Texas; Crow Butte in Nebraska; and Smith Ranch-Highland, Rusty Creek, and Willow Creek in Wyoming.
The EIA states that the increase in U.S. uranium production is partly to supplement uranium imported under the Megatons to Megawatts program, which completed its last import in December of last year. Since 1995, the U.S. has purchased over 14,000 tons of low-enriched uranium derived from nuclear disarmament and military stockpiles of highly enriched uranium. This low-enriched uranium has been converted into fuel by the U.S. and used in its reactors, accounting for about 10% of the total electricity generation in the U.S. over the past 15 years.
