Follow U.S. investment immigration and U.S. news: During Christmas, many teenagers may still be troubled about what to wear to holiday parties. Meanwhile, a 19-year-old American is battling fierce winds and snow in Antarctica. The wind chill at minus 50°C has caused him to suffer from back pain, rashes, and cramps; temporary blindness from snow blindness has caused him to get lost multiple times with his teammates, and altitude sickness has made his breathing short. Yet he refuses to give up and continues to struggle toward his destination.

This American teen, named Parker Liautaud, is currently trekking along the coast of Antarctica, aiming to reach the Antarctic region. At 19 years old, Parker is a student at Yale University. At the age of 15, he had already ventured to the Arctic and became the youngest person to walk to the North Pole. If this expedition is successful, he will set a new world record as the youngest person to reach Antarctica. He has undergone months of special training for this adventure.
Parker told reporters: “It’s hard to describe what minus 50 degrees Celsius feels like. But the most obvious example is the speed at which things freeze. The inside of the mask can freeze within seconds. Boiling water only takes a few minutes to drop to minus 20 degrees Celsius.” He also stated, “Everything is incredibly difficult, but we cannot only see the negative side. We should feel lucky because we have the opportunity to come to this incredible place.”
