Focus on UK immigration and UK life: Atlantis is a legendary continent with a highly developed prehistoric civilization, often referred to as the "eighth continent" of the Earth.

According to British media reports, since British sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor built the underwater museum, Museo Subacuático de Arte, off the coast of Cancun, Mexico, in 2009, he has recently launched a brand-new underwater art project—a realistic version of Atlantis. This project showcases the current state of destruction of natural marine habitats and has once again caused a sensation in the art world.
In this series of mysterious and grotesque new works, there is not only a concrete statue of a stooped woman titled "No Turning Back," which alludes to the gradual loss of Caribbean coral reefs, but also another sculpture titled "Self-Immolation," which depicts the image of a lonely burner.
Most of the above works are made of marine-grade cement, with stainless steel used for structural extensions. As time passes, these sculptures will be covered by rapidly growing, bright yellow fire coral, resembling a ball of flames. Regarding the purpose of his creation, Taylor stated that through these works, he wants to emphasize that the resources humans possess are constantly being depleted and that the blue planet we inhabit is being drastically altered by human activity. Future generations may very well be unable to see such rich and colorful species and unique primitive corals. Therefore, to balance this sense of loss, he decided to use these works to reignite hope in people.
