Follow Greece Immigration and Greece News: Greece has approved the environmental impact assessment report for the cross-border natural gas pipeline project between Greece and Bulgaria. Once completed, the project will have an annual transport capacity of 3 billion cubic meters of natural gas, with a maximum capacity of 5 billion cubic meters.

The Greek Minister of Environment, Energy and Climate Change stated that this pipeline project is of great significance to the energy security of both Greece and Bulgaria, and will make the Southern Gas Corridor a reality, serving as a gateway for Caspian natural gas to enter the Southeast European market. The project is estimated to begin in the autumn of 2014 and is expected to be operational by early 2016.
