Cyprus is located 80 kilometers north of Turkey, 104 kilometers east of Syria, 530 kilometers west of the Greek island of Crete, and 439 kilometers south of the Suez Canal. After your Cyprus investment immigration application is approved, traveling to Cyprus generally requires a transit through Europe, sometimes involving an overnight stay at the transit point. The capital of Cyprus is Nicosia, but for travelers, the most important city is Larnaca, as it serves as the air gateway to Cyprus. Tourists arriving in Cyprus for tourism first arrive here before dispersing to various parts of the country.

To enter Cyprus from the north, you can use Turkish Airlines, which offers direct flights from cities such as Istanbul, Turkey, to the airport in the eastern part of Lefkosa; alternatively, there are ferries from ports along the Mediterranean coast of Turkey that go directly to ports in northern Cyprus. (Note: It is not permitted to cross the Green Line to the south for tourism after entering northern Cyprus via this route. Furthermore, if your passport contains a record of entry through northern Cyprus, Greece may refuse your entry.)
There are no railways in Cyprus; domestic transportation relies solely on cars, taxis, or rental cars. Buses run between cities, and timetables are available at the tourist office; however, they stop at every village, making them quite slow. Intra-city buses run every 15-20 minutes, while inter-city services are less frequent and do not operate on Sundays.
Standard taxi fares are very high; while a trip of about 6 kilometers from the airport to the city center is affordable, long-distance travel is difficult to afford. A commonly used alternative is the converted Mercedes taxi. These large taxis can be shared by up to 8 people, with passengers splitting the fare (usually 4-7 people),
which is naturally more economical. They can also pick up passengers at designated locations, making them quite popular. However, there are capacity limits, and they will not depart if there are too few passengers. It is best to book one day in advance, especially on weekends when demand is high. Operating hours are generally 6:00-18:00 (until 19:30 in summer), with departures every 30 minutes.
