Follow U.S. immigration and U.S. news: When it comes to a thriller novel, 'The Master of Demons' had a strong momentum upon its publication in the United States in early 2013, with the hardcover edition selling out in less than a month.

The novel tells the story of a middle-aged man. Professor David Elman is an expert in the field of demonology, particularly well-versed in John Milton's 'Paradise Lost,' for which he has received widespread acclaim in the academic community. However, David himself does not believe in the existence of demons and is not a follower of any religion. One afternoon, he unexpectedly receives a visitor in his office at the university—a gaunt woman who comes to convey a verbal invitation: she requests him to travel to Venice to witness a "phenomenon" and provide his professional opinion. In return, he will receive a substantial fee. David's daughter has mysteriously disappeared in Venice, and guided by the symbols and riddles mentioned in 'Paradise Lost,' David embarks on a terrifying quest to try to rescue his daughter from the hands of an unknown entity...
The bizarre plot led to the film rights for 'The Master of Demons' being purchased even before the novel was published by the renowned director Robert Zemeckis, known for Hollywood blockbusters such as 'Forrest Gump,' 'Back to the Future,' and 'The Polar Express.'
