Follow Canadian Immigration and Canadian Economy: Janet L. Ecker, CEO of the Canadian Financial Services Alliance and former Minister of Finance of Ontario, stated that the stability and health of the Canadian banking sector is due to the effective communication mechanisms among its government, regulatory bodies, and financial institutions, as well as a relatively conservative business culture. Ecker expressed hope that Toronto, the ninth largest financial center in the world, could become the offshore market for Renminbi in North America if given the opportunity.

Reports indicate that Ecker mentioned Toronto, as the ninth largest financial center globally and a financial hub in Canada, has the potential to become the offshore Renminbi financial market in North America, making it more suitable than New York. However, the current Renminbi market in Canada is still very nascent, and there is a significant distance to cover before it can truly become an offshore Renminbi center.
