Follow U.S. Immigration and U.S. Education: The annual online application process has begun. For students preparing to study abroad, its importance is self-evident, as it is the key to determining a student's pursuit of advanced studies overseas. Abroad, different universities have different application deadlines for local and international students. If one is unfamiliar with the application process or lacks comprehensive information, it is easy to miss university online application deadlines.

Due to the different programs applied for, application deadlines also vary. Let us start with undergraduate applications. Undergraduate deadlines include ED (Early Decision), EA (Early Action), and RD (Regular Decision). With ED/EA early applications, students can receive admission results by mid-December. For RD regular applications, each school has a different deadline, usually concentrated on January 1, January 15, February 1, and February 15. Of course, there are exceptions, such as the University of Washington located in Seattle, which has an application deadline of December 1.
The peak for graduate application deadlines is concentrated in December and the following January. Top 20 U.S. universities will reach their application deadlines in December, such as MIT, Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, Columbia University, and the University of California, Berkeley. In addition, the flagship programs of some slightly lower-ranked institutions also have deadlines in December, such as the University of Arizona's Electrical and Computer Engineering program, Indiana University's Arts Administration program, and the University of Michigan's Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, which have a deadline of December 15.
Among the institutions with online application deadlines in January for U.S. study, there are many prestigious ones, including Top 30 universities such as Northwestern University, Cornell University, the University of Chicago, Carnegie Mellon University, and Washington University in St. Louis. Among them, the University of Chicago's International Relations program deadline is January 4. Carnegie Mellon University's Information Systems Management program application deadline is January 10. The deadlines for the Interior Design programs at Cornell University and George Washington University are January 15.
Major universities close their applications in December and January. If you missed these for various reasons, there are still some schools you can apply to in February and March. For example, for many master's programs in U.S. universities ranked in the top 100, such as the University of California, Los Angeles, the University of Delaware, Rutgers University, North Carolina State University, and Clemson University, the application deadlines are as late as March. If you encounter obstacles while aiming for top-tier institutions, there is still enough time to strive for mid-tier schools.
