U.S. Investment Immigration focuses on U.S. living news: Washington, September 3 - A spokesperson for the United States Department of Agriculture stated that the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), a division of the USDA, is still investigating how genetically modified wheat appeared in Oregon, and there is currently no timeline for the completion of the investigation. This incident had previously led to a suspension of exports of soft white wheat.

This genetically modified wheat, known as MON71800, was developed by Monsanto and is resistant to glyphosate herbicide. Monsanto has stated that this genetically modified wheat may have been intentionally planted by individuals other than farmers.
The USDA conducted field tests on Roundup Ready wheat produced in sixteen states from 1998 to 2005, but Monsanto indicated that it had discontinued its project in Oregon twelve years ago.
This investigation has led some countries to suspend imports of U.S. wheat. Some farmers have also filed lawsuits against Monsanto.
