Follow Greek Immigration to pay attention to Greek education: Previously, the Greek Minister of Education, Petros Efthymiou, announced a plan for connecting all primary and secondary schools in Greece to the internal network currently being established.

According to the plan, Greece will connect all primary and secondary schools to a national online network called the “Pan-Hellenic Internal Network for Primary and Secondary Schools” over the next few years, enabling all teachers and students at primary and secondary schools nationwide to communicate and access information with other schools domestically and internationally through this network.
Efthymiou stated that currently, 17.8% of primary schools, 99.81% of secondary schools, and all vocational training schools have already been connected to the internal network of primary and secondary schools in Greece.
Efthymiou mentioned that the ultimate goal of the government is to establish a single network for the entire national education system, which, besides being connected to the internet, will integrate information sources such as all primary and secondary schools, universities, technical schools, research institutes, libraries, and museums.
Greece is relatively lagging in the promotion of computers and networks among EU countries, but has improved significantly in recent years. According to Efthymiou, Greece has ahead of schedule achieved the plan for computer literacy set by EU leaders, which dictates that by 2004, each group of 15 primary and secondary school students must have access to at least one computer.
