Greece Investment Immigration follows Greek current affairs: Recently, after the leader of the Greek Democratic Left party, Kouvelis, withdrew from the ruling coalition, he revealed to the media that "Greek Prime Minister Samaras had intended to hold early elections.">

Facing local media, Kouvelis stated that despite strong opposition from the other two parties in the ruling coalition, PASOK and the Democratic Left, Prime Minister Samaras still decided to shut down the national broadcaster ERT. Kouvelis described this event as the "last straw" that broke the already fragile ruling coalition.
In the interview, Kouvelis also indicated that Greek Prime Minister Samaras did indeed intend to hold early elections, but due to pressure from the European Union, he ultimately "changed his mind."
Furthermore, Kouvelis criticized PASOK leader Venizelos, believing that Venizelos and Samaras had reached some sort of private agreement before the final negotiations regarding the closure of the Greek national broadcaster, which led to the Democratic Left being "pushed out" and leaving the ruling coalition.
