The South Pacific region has enormous investment potential, with tropical islands boasting unique tourism resources, marine fishery resources, and oil resources. Coupled with an open economy and a favorable legal environment, this has resulted in the rapid development of tourism, investment, and various related industries. The South Pacific Island countries of Fiji, Vanuatu, and Tonga have signed tourism memorandums with our country, and an increasing number of domestic enterprises are beginning to pay attention to the South Pacific Island countries, developing new tourism itineraries and seeking new investment opportunities.
To build a bridge for cooperation and exchange between China and the South Pacific Island countries and to provide more investment opportunities for domestic enterprises, encouraging Chinese enterprises to go out, the China International Studies and Academic Exchange Foundation, the Fijian Embassy in China, the Papua New Guinea Embassy in China, and the Honorary Consulate of Vanuatu in Beijing plan to jointly host the “First South Pacific Island Countries Tourism Trade and Investment Forum” on September 14 in Beijing. At that time, the conference will invite representatives from the diplomatic missions of member countries of the South Pacific Island Forum, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Commerce, National Development and Reform Commission, State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, as well as representatives from enterprises, social organizations, media reporters, and various sectors of society, totaling approximately 300 attendees. The governments of the above three countries warmly invite participants to the South Pacific Island venue on September 15 for a ten-day trade investigation.
