Spanish Immigration requires understanding the Spanish Living guide: Driver's licenses from EU countries as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway can be used in Spain. However, this is only applicable for short stays in Spain (not exceeding 6 months); if the user intends to reside in Spain long-term, they must exchange their driver's license for a Spanish one within 6 months of obtaining Spanish residency. The following documents are required to exchange for a Spanish driver's license:

1. Application form provided by the Ministry of Transport;
2. Valid identification, such as a residence permit;
3. Driver's license from an EU country or Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway;
4. Photo size 32x26 mm;
5. TALON FOTO form;
6. A declaration stating that the driver's license has not been revoked by a court;
7. A declaration stating that the individual does not hold a Spanish driver's license;
8. TASA of 27.10 euros.
If the originally held EU driver's license has expired, a psychological evaluation certificate must also be provided in addition to the above materials.
Additionally, it is very important to note that if your EU driver's license was obtained during the period when you held a valid Spanish residence, it cannot be exchanged for a Spanish driver's license.
