Follow Spain Immigration and Life in Spain: On September 29, 2013, local time, in Burgos, Spain, 400 volunteers worked together to create a Spanish blood sausage measuring 175 meters long and weighing 200 kilograms, breaking the Guinness World Record and becoming the longest blood sausage in the world.

Typically, Spanish blood sausage contains onions, garlic, sweeteners, chili, oregano (spice), pig blood, and rice. Later variations include adding cloves and cinnamon to the spice list. In some regions, pumpkin is used instead of rice, which completely changes the texture and flavor of the sausage. However, regardless of the ingredients used, blood sausage is worth a try. Although the idea of eating pig blood might make you feel nauseous, just like many dishes that contain ingredients you are not accustomed to, you might be surprised once you start enjoying it. Many tourists visiting Spain have eaten it without knowing what was inside and loved it, praising it highly.
