Immigrate to Vanuatu to learn about Vanuatu attractions: The Marum Volcano, located on Ambae Island in the Republic of Vanuatu in Oceania, stands at 1,270 meters (4,167 feet) and is an active volcano.

The Marum Volcano is one of the 1,500 active volcanoes in the world, situated on Ambae Island, which is also known as "Black Island" due to the frequent eruptions that spew volcanic ash, causing the sky to appear gray-black. Marum is a highly dangerous area, with the volcano continuously emitting plume-like volcanic ash that rises over a mile (approximately 1.6 kilometers) into the air above the island. As a result, officials prohibit tourists from approaching and advise keeping as far away from the Marum crater as possible.
Legends
To the locals, the Marum Volcano is regarded as a sacred place, and they never climb the volcano for fear that doing so would bring misfortune to the villages below. They believe that the souls of the deceased embark on their journey to the afterlife from this site. This legend adds an air of mystery to the volcano, making it renowned worldwide.
