Immigrating to Ireland and focusing on Irish education: The University of Dublin (the national university of Ireland) was founded in 1854 by theorist, philosopher, and poet John Henry Newman. Since then, University College Dublin has been a cradle for some of Ireland's most influential cultural, business, and political figures. Notable alumni include the current Taoiseach of Ireland Bertie Ahern, business leaders Dr. Tony O'Reilly and Dr. Peter Sutherland, as well as literary and artistic giants such as novelist James Joyce, film directors Neil Jordan and Jim Sheridan. Today, in the 21st century, University College Dublin is the largest and most diverse university in Ireland.
