Immigrating to Hong Kong will definitely lead you to Wan Chai in Hong Kong, as you will need to apply for an identity card or renew your visa. In Wan Chai, there are many Cha Chaan Tengs that only the "old Hong Kong" locals know about! Almost every street has a number of traditional, newly opened, and avant-garde Cha Chaan Tengs. However, these few are ones you really should not miss!

1. Wah Sing Ice Room
Address: Shop B1, G/F, Kwong Sang Building, 6 Hennessy Road, Wan Chai (right next to the Emperor Centre)
Wah Sing Ice Room is a nostalgic-themed ice room that boasts the use of Hokkaido 3.6 milk and halal beef. The interior is decorated with records signed by celebrities, and the food mainly consists of scrambled egg toast and soup noodles.
The scrambled eggs here are truly smooth, exceptionally smooth, and unusually smooth. The scrambled eggs at nearby Cha Chaan Tengs cannot compare to those here!
Basically, a regular meal includes the following items:
Hot drink (the milk tea is very famous)
Toast
Scrambled eggs (recommended)
Char Siu beef soup noodles
Of course, there are many other Hong Kong-style Cha Chaan Teng dishes!
Let me tell you a secret that I usually don’t share with others. At Wah Sing Ice Room, you might easily run into celebrities! Why? Because next door is the Emperor Centre, where many artists from Emperor Entertainment Group come to Wah Sing Ice Room; moreover, one of the owners of Wah Sing Ice Room is an employee of the record company, attracting many stars such as Chapman To and Andy Hui to visit. However, this usually happens during late-night hours, as they are celebrities after all! Inside Wah Sing Ice Room, you will see many photos of the owners with artists or their signatures.
2. Kam Fung Cha Chaan Teng
Address: 41 Chun Yeung Street, Wan Chai, it is a long-established Cha Chaan Teng that opened in 1956.
Sitting in a traditional Cha Chaan Teng, you can enjoy traditional Cha Chaan Teng food, and their famous iced milk tea is made using traditional methods, so you won’t find half a cup filled with ice. Chicken pie, iced milk tea, milk tea, pineapple bun, non-iced milk tea, and egg tarts are all highlights here. The pineapple bun is highly recommended!
I hope these two traditional Cha Chaan Tengs can give you a strong taste of Hong Kong.
