Follow Portugal immigration and life in Portugal: The film "Florbela," directed by Vicente Alves, will represent Portugal at the 6th European Union Film Festival held in China. The film will be screened in three Chinese cities this November.

The European Union delegation to China announced that this year's EU Film Festival will feature 22 films produced by EU member states. All films will be presented to Chinese audiences with Chinese subtitles and plot summaries. The purpose of this festival, organized by the EU, is to showcase the great and diverse artistic expressions of the European Union to Chinese audiences.
The film festival will open in Beijing on November 1st, and renowned director Gerard Barrett will attend the opening ceremony. Over the following month, these 22 participating films will be screened as scheduled in major cinemas across various cities in China.
In addition to the Chinese capital, Beijing, the film festival will also hold a series of screenings in Chengdu, the provincial capital of Sichuan Province in southwestern China, and in Shenzhen, China's most successful Special Economic Zone adjacent to Hong Kong.
"Florbela" is a successful production that swept six awards at a film awards ceremony in early October, including Best Director. The lead actress, Dalila Carmo, also won the Best Actress award for her outstanding performance.
