Follow Spain Immigration and Spain Education Development: News on September 19th, magic has officially become a university major! To become an excellent magician, one still requires years of study and time, as well as guidance from outstanding mentors. In order to carry forward this fascinating art, several Spanish magicians have jointly founded a "Magic Major"!

The courses are offered by the Real Centro Universitario María Cristina, located near El Escorial in Madrid. This magic major, named Programa Univ. de Ilusionismo, has a three-year duration with classes held on weekends, focusing primarily on practical training. The curriculum is divided into professional adult courses and children's magic entertainment courses. The adult program lasts three years and requires passing various assessments; only students who pass these assessments can receive the Advanced Magician Certificate issued by the college.
More than 30 well-known domestic and international Spanish magicians are participating in this project. Fernando Arribas, as the main person in charge of the project, said: "A magician not only needs nimble hands but also needs to have a quick and accurate grasp and control of human psychological activities, visual habits, environmental control, and so on. At the same time, they need to adapt to various different environments and create the best atmosphere for their performances. Furthermore, we hope that students are not skeptics; magic is not just sleight of hand, and it is not just technique. Magic is an art of the human heart, and excellent magicians need to have a very high level of perception."
