Focus on Spanish immigration and keep an eye on Spanish economic dynamics: On September 19, it was reported that the INDITEX Group, to which ZARA belongs, achieved a net profit of 951 million euros in the first half of this year, an increase of 1% compared to the same period last year.

This week, INDITEX released the company's financial report for the first half of the year.
According to the financial report, the gross profit from export business reached 1.624 billion euros, very close to 1.621 billion euros in the same period of last year. The net profit from export business also reached 1.219 billion euros, a decrease from last year's 1.238 billion euros.
Global sales across all brands under INDITEX grew by 6%, with a turnover of 7.655 billion euros, an increase of 2% compared to the same period last year.
The total WorldWay volume of the INDITEX Group also increased by 8%. The ability to achieve growth during the economic crisis is attributed to the expansion strategy of the INDITEX Group.
In the first half of this year, brands under INDITEX opened 95 new stores in over 40 countries. In the third quarter, from August 1 to September 14, the INDITEX Group benefitted from discount month and summer holidays, resulting in a 10% increase in sales.
The overall profitability of the INDITEX Group is largely derived from overseas markets. In the first half of this year, sales of all brands under INDITEX in Spain declined by 2%, reflecting significant weakness in Spanish consumer demand. Two years ago, sales in Spain accounted for 21.5% of global turnover, which has now dropped to 19.3% this year.
Sales in the Asian market grew by 1.5 percentage points, accounting for 21.7% of total global sales. The online market represents 14.4% of total sales, while the European market outside of Spain holds a share of 44.6%.
Online sales have also brought substantial revenue to INDITEX, which has activated online sales in 24 countries. Among these, China, the United States, and Russia are the top three countries in online sales performance.
This year, INDITEX created 10,000 new job opportunities, bringing the number of employees within the group to 123,000. As INDITEX continues to expand, the group will contribute further to the job market in the second half of the year.
