Spain Investment Immigration focus on Spanish current affairs: Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy recently accepted an interview with The Wall Street Journal regarding the country's economic issues. In the interview, he revealed his intention to participate in the next general election.

The report stated that when asked if he would continue to participate in the general election as the People's Party candidate, Rajoy replied: "I do not intend to retire; I still want to continue serving the People's Party."
The Wall Street Journal reporter hinted during the interview that the exposure of the "slush fund scandal" and the limited effectiveness of the economic policies formulated by the Rajoy government over the past two years to cope with the economic crisis might have a negative impact on the Prime Minister's image. On this issue, Rajoy pointed out that he hopes the citizens can see that the government he leads is trying to "create a more solid foundation for the future." He said, "It is impossible to govern the country while thinking every day about whether people will vote for you."
Regarding the current economic situation in Spain, Rajoy pointed out that "Spain has emerged from the recession, but has not yet escaped the economic crisis." He emphasized that "the current task is to strive to revitalize the economy in order to create more jobs."
