Immigrate to Portugal for tourism in Portugal: The tour guide had the bus take us to a square on the north bank of the Tagus River. We first went to visit the famous World Cultural Heritage site on the shore—the Belém Tower. Because there were too many people in line and we were worried about not having enough time, we did not go inside. According to the tour guide, more than 500 years ago, the Portuguese turned Brazil into a colony, which also rapidly transformed Portugal into a world power. During that so-called Golden Age, the countless amounts of gold, silver, gemstones, and spices transported by the Portuguese via the sea were all unloaded near the Belém Tower.

Near the Belém Tower, there is also a Monument to the Discoveries, built in 1960 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the death of Prince Henry the Navigator, who made significant contributions to Portuguese maritime exploration. The monument is shaped like a sail, and the first statue is that of Prince Henry, followed by other famous navigators such as Vasco da Gama and Ferdinand Magellan. Viewed from a distance, it is magnificent and spectacular; unfortunately, it was under renovation, so we could not see the faces of these statues.
Not far away, a seaplane sits on gray granite, also commemorating the story of a female pilot who successfully flew from Lisbon to Rio de Janeiro.
