Follow Antigua Immigration and Antigua News: On March 12, 2015, Ambassador Ren Gongping of Antigua and Barbuda met with Governor General Williams and his wife to exchange views on the development of bilateral relations and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
Ambassador Ren first expressed gratitude to the couple for their strong support in developing relations between the two countries and congratulated Mrs. Williams on her election as the first chairperson of the Antigua-China Friendship Association. Ambassador Ren also stated that the Chinese government places great importance on developing relations between the two countries and hopes that friendly cooperation can benefit the people of both nations. The Chinese Embassy is willing to maintain close contact with the Governor General's office to further advance cultural exchanges and expand areas of cooperation, continuously enhancing the level of bilateral relations development.
Governor General Williams stated that China is a sincere partner of Antigua and Barbuda, and the government and people of Antigua and Barbuda appreciate the assistance provided by China for the country's development. He will continue to support the development of relations between Antigua and Barbuda and China, and practical cooperation, willing to work with Ambassador Ren to make greater contributions to enhancing friendship between the people of the two nations.
Mrs. Williams briefly introduced the preparation process of the Antigua-China Friendship Association, stating that she will strive to play a bridging role, further enhancing exchanges between the people of both countries, increasing understanding, and deepening friendship.
