Investment Immigration to Portugal Learn about Portugal's Economy: According to the latest data released today by Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), the investment in Portugal's real estate market reached €715 million last year.

According to preliminary data for the fourth quarter of 2014, the proportion of non-residential investment increased by 130% compared to 2013 (€312 million), and is roughly on par with the levels of 2008 (€704 million) and 2010 (€760 million).
Last year, Portugal's investment market share saw a significant rebound, with JLL estimating that the increase in office space reached 30% to 40%, with over 30 new shops in Lisbon's main commercial areas.
Pedro Lancastre, JLL's head for the Portugal region, emphasized in a statement that the total investment in 2014 clearly indicates that the Portuguese real estate market is undergoing a comprehensive recovery, with almost all investors being foreigners.
He also stated that the growth trend in Portugal's real estate investment market will continue in 2015, and may even set investment records this year.
JLL's data indicates that about 86% of investors last year were from abroad, including China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Spain, and Russia.
Investors from China are very active in purchasing and selling office buildings in prime locations in Portugal.
Retail shops, similar to residential real estate, are a major sector in Portugal's real estate investment market, accounting for 58% of all transactions, followed by commercial, industrial, and logistics real estate projects.
