For investment immigration to Cyprus or traveling in Cyprus, it is highly recommended to rent a car. Public transportation in Cyprus is not well-developed, taxis are very expensive, and the country is quite small with very easy-to-recognize road conditions. All highways, national roads, etc., have numerical and English signs at every intersection, so even without a GPS, you can certainly find your way if you are careful. However, you should be cautious when driving on the small roads in the old town areas of cities; they are marked in Greek and are full of one-way streets, which might be confusing for a while.

First, it is strongly recommended that those who want to rent a car do so directly on the website. As long as you can confirm the time and book in advance, there are more discounts, whereas the discounts you can negotiate when renting on-site at a rental office are actually very few. Rental vehicles in Cyprus have red license plates.
Tips
1. To rent a car in Cyprus, you can simply present your Chinese driver's license, as it contains English, except for the name which is in Chinese. I had heard before that a translated driver's license was required, but in reality, we went to three rental agencies and were able to rent just by showing our passports and Chinese driver's licenses.
2. When negotiating the price for a rental car, be sure to clarify whether GPS and insurance require additional fees beyond the rental price. In addition, as we chose to pick up the car in Limassol and return it at Larnaca Airport, they charged an extra 30 Euros, and since the car had half a tank of gas, they charged another 30 Euros.
3. Renting a car generally also requires providing a credit card for a deposit. Usually, after one month, if there are no traffic violations or other issues, the deposit is refunded.
4. Car prices generally range from 20 Euros to over 100 Euros per day; usually, better brands of SUVs and the like still cost over 80 Euros per day.
5. The most important point for renting a car: it is best to thoroughly check the condition of the car, not just the exterior. Because their cars look very, very new on the outside, appearing like new cars. For example, we rented a blue Honda HR-V (a model not available in China), and we rented it because it looked very new.
6. You can generally rent a car in Cyprus for up to six months; after 6 months, you can take the local driving test.
