Canada Immigration applicants should first ensure they have their passport and Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) ready for their initial entry, along with basic daily necessities for settling in Canada. Each person must complete an entry card. The People's Bank of China and Customs have clear regulations regarding the amount of currency Chinese citizens may carry when leaving the country. Canadian Customs regulations state that each person may bring a maximum of 10,000 CAD into the country. If you are carrying a larger amount, it is recommended that you obtain a bank draft in CAD from a local "Bank of China" branch, which can be cashed at any bank in Canada. If the amount is particularly large, it is best to open a Canadian bank account while still in China and transfer the funds to your account. The Bank of China allows each ID holder to remit up to 50,000 USD per year.

Items
It is best not to bring electrical appliances, as they are sold cheaply here. You may bring some bedding. If you are arriving in winter, bring a down jacket and changes of underwear. Famous brand clothing, skincare products, and cosmetics are much cheaper in Canada than in China, so there is no need to bring them. You may also bring some basic medications for emergency use. Be sure to bring several power adapters. Canadian Customs grants duty-free entry for all items brought by new immigrants during their first entry. If you cannot bring too many items on your first trip, it is recommended that you write a list in English of the items you intend to bring to Canada before you depart. Present this list to the immigration office and customs upon entry; they will stamp it for verification against the items you bring during your next entry, confirming they are duty-free as listed.
Luggage
Be careful not to exceed weight limits, as airlines have clear regulations. Air Canada regulations state that each passenger may bring two 30×30cm suitcases; a family of three may bring six suitcases. Each suitcase must not exceed 23 kg. If you are overweight, the fees for the excess weight may cost more than the items themselves. Air China and China Eastern Airlines allow 32 kg per suitcase, and being slightly overweight is usually acceptable.
Flight Tickets
Summer and the period around Christmas are peak travel seasons; you should avoid these times when planning your itinerary. Additionally, it is best to book flight tickets in advance. Booking tickets from within Canada is about 1,500 RMB cheaper per ticket than booking from China. The only ports of entry from China are Vancouver and Toronto, and the port of entry varies depending on the flight. You do not need to worry about this; even if you are going to Montreal, Calgary, or other places, you will still need to enter through Vancouver or Toronto. Although there is a "Destination" field on the immigration application form, once you have entered the country, you are free to go wherever you choose.
Tips:
1. Upon entry, the immigration office will ask how much money you are carrying. The minimum amount you state should not be less than the standard: "an independent applicantis usually expected to have at least $10,000 Canadian dollars plus $2,000 Canadian dollars for each dependent".
2. Keep the list approved by Canadian Customs for use during your next entry. Items brought during your first entry are exempt from customs duties.
