Living in Ireland, beyond the beautiful scenery, the castles allow one to experience its profound historical heritage. Each castle has a long story, whether cruel, romantic, tragic, or sweet. The vows of love seem to penetrate those thick walls, forever remembered in these beautiful legends that increasingly reveal their mystery and ancient splendor with the passage of time. When immigrating to Ireland, there are four romantic castles that are absolutely unmissable!

Ashford Castle
Founded in 1288 by the Anglo-Norman de Burgh family, Ashford Castle has maintained its premier status despite the family constructing several similar castles. In 1852, the castle's new owner, Sir Benjamin Lee Guinness, expanded the estate to cover 26,000 acres (158,000 mu) and constructed new roads, planting thousands of trees.
This fairy-tale castle is located beside a picturesque lake, seamlessly blending with the surrounding beauty. Everything associated with the castle exudes a magical aura of the old continent, truly captivating and enchanting. From the moment you step into the castle, its mysterious, elegant, and tranquil atmosphere mesmerizes you. The grand hall of Ashford Castle is luxuriously decorated and is renowned for providing the highest quality accommodations. Each room is uniquely designed, creating a comfortable environment with different styles, from marble bathrooms to luxurious furnishings. Many rooms retain their original features, and all are equipped with modern amenities.
Castle History: Many celebrities have experienced the magnificent luxury of Ashford Castle, including Ronald Reagan, Prince Edward, Jack Nicholson, and Houston. The castle itself is referred to as a romantic fairy mirror, which may explain why 007 Bond star Pierce Brosnan and his fiancée Keely Smith chose to solemnly vow in the tranquil backdrop of Ashford Castle.
Luttrellstown Castle
Luttrellstown Castle is an astonishing place, located just 20 minutes from Dublin International Airport, renowned for its luxurious grandeur and elegant atmosphere. The castle features 14 elegant rooms, which can accommodate up to 28 guests with extra beds. The names of these rooms are quite evocative, such as "Royal Suite" and "King's Room," making it clear that all rooms are filled with personality and luxurious comfort. The magnificent scale and mature style of Luttrellstown Castle allow one to completely escape the pressures and trivialities of the world. Guests can quietly stroll through the woods and lawns, exploring the castle's many unique attractions. Whether you choose the Royal Suite or the King's Room, you will find yourself immersed in enjoyment and comfort, truly experiencing what is known as luxury.
Castle History: This is indeed an amazing treasure, with no more than twelve places in the world that can rival it in comfort, style, beauty, and location. In July 1999, the world-famous David Beckham and Spice Girl Victoria chose Luttrellstown Castle as the venue for their grand wedding.
Adare Manor
Adare Manor is actually located on the banks of the Maigue River, an ancient site of a Norman fortress, and is considered one of the most beautiful castles in Ireland. In the "2002 Readers' Choice Awards" held by Condé Nast Traveler magazine, Adare Manor Hotel and Golf Resort triumphed over competitors to win the title of "Europe's Top Resort."
Surrounded by rolling terrain, Adare Manor is nestled among several well-arranged gardens. It boasts world-class facilities, including various charming accommodations, meticulously planned golf tournaments, the luxurious Adare Manor Spa, a picturesque equestrian center with country trails, and several unique restaurants.
Castle History: Adare Manor has attracted heavyweight visitors, including former U.S. President Bill Clinton, who hosted the Northern Ireland peace talks here, and world golf champion "Tiger" Woods, who came to visit.
Blarney Castle
There is a small town in Ireland called Blarney, home to Blarney Castle, built in the 15th century, which is one of the oldest castles in Ireland, attracting visitors from all over the world. The most famous feature of the castle is the Blarney Stone, which is said that kissing it will grant one the gift of eloquence. However, kissing it requires some effort, as it is located over a deep ravine, and despite safety measures, visitors often scream.
From Blarney Castle, one can see dense small forests nearby, while the distant landscape is filled with endless greenery, with the town sprinkled throughout, creating a stunning view.
The nearby small forest of Blarney Castle feels like a fairy tale, with a particularly popular tree that often appears in cartoons and fairy tales, but in real life, it is the only one of its kind. Another place filled with fairy tale romance is the Wishing Steps, where it is said that if you close one eye and step on the Wishing Steps while making a wish, your wish will come true. Visitors seem to step into a scene from a fairy tale, sparking endless imagination.
Castle History: Blarney Castle was once owned by Cormac MacCarthy (another King of Munster), who provided reinforcements of four thousand troops to Robert's forces during the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314. In gratitude, the opposing side gifted him half of the Stone of Scone, which is now known as the Blarney Stone. Later, Queen Elizabeth I granted the castle to the Earl of Leicester. Whenever the Earl sought to negotiate the castle's transfer with MacCarthy, the latter would always delay with banquets or other means, and ultimately the castle was never successfully transferred. Finally, the Queen told the Earl, "You are too Blarney." This is how the term "Blarney" originated. In English vocabulary, "Blarney" means "flattering, deceptive but harmless words."
