Yesterday, the Center for China and Globalization and the Social Sciences Academic Press jointly released the "Blue Book of International Talent: Report on Overseas Chinese Professionals (2014)." The Blue Book points out that there are currently nearly 4 million overseas Chinese professionals in developed countries such as the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, and Singapore. Nearly 70% of overseas Chinese professionals work in enterprises.

The Blue Book notes that the geographical distribution of overseas Chinese professionals is characterized by "high concentration and wide dispersion." They possess high-level knowledge structures and skill sets, strong economic power, and deep cultural backgrounds. According to relevant statistics, in 2013, the number of immigrants to the United States born in mainland China reached 2.2 million, making them the second-largest new immigrant group in the United States.
The Blue Book also points out that nearly 70% of overseas Chinese professionals work in enterprises, followed by those working in educational institutions, accounting for 19%. In addition to shifting from traditional fields such as computer science and electronic information to new industries like bioengineering and new medicine, cultural creativity, new energy, energy conservation and environmental protection, and new materials, a large number of cross-industry professionals have also begun to emerge.
