Follow U.S. Investment Immigration and Life in the U.S.: The U.S.'s largest turkey producer, Butterball, has stated that they will not be able to fatten the fresh turkeys on their farms before Thanksgiving, which may lead to a potential shortage of fresh turkeys for Thanksgiving in the United States. However, the company did not explain the reasons why its affiliated farms are unable to provide sufficient quantities of adequately sized turkeys.

However, Butterball stated that as compensation, they still have a large stock of frozen turkey varieties, which are turkeys weighing over 16 pounds.
Headquartered in Garner, North Carolina, Butterball produces 1 billion pounds of turkey each year, accounting for 20% of the U.S. market output. The turkeys they provide are the preferred choice for Thanksgiving dinners in American households. Due to insufficient production of fresh turkeys, the company has had to cut 50% of its turkey orders this year.
