Since the investment immigration program to Saint Kitts entered the Chinese market, news about Saint Kitts has quickly become a hot topic in online searches. Recently, media reports suggested that Zhang Lan, the chairman of Qiao Jiang Nan, may be considering immigration to Saint Kitts. In June of this year, Zhang Lan spoke emphatically about Chinese entrepreneurs immigrating abroad, stating: “We have all worked in the cattle shed, lived in the cattle shed, and today we are all enjoying the policies of the country, as well as the opportunities brought to each of us entrepreneurs by the rise of the Chinese economy. Why should we ‘lift the blanket and rise’?” However, in the blink of an eye, Zhang Lan has also joined the wave of immigration.
The Wealth Index Capital Group specializes in guiding domestic companies to go public overseas. In the eyes of its chairman, Huang Shan, although Qiao Jiang Nan is listed in Hong Kong, changing nationality could save Zhang Lan a significant amount in personal income tax. However, this also reflects the unavoidable circumstances faced by Chinese entrepreneurs. Huang Shan believes that Zhang Lan is likely to immigrate to a small island nation in the Caribbean—Saint Kitts and Nevis.
Currently, most countries around the world have requirements for immigration known as “immigration monitoring.” “Immigration monitoring” is a figurative metaphor, indicating that to immigrate, one must not leave the country they wish to immigrate to for extended periods, typically ranging from four to ten years. Clearly, Qiao Jiang Nan's business is based domestically, and Zhang Lan cannot be away for long.
Only three countries in the world do not have such requirements for immigration; instead, one can make donations to public welfare organizations in those countries. These three countries include Austria, and the other two are in the Caribbean—one is the Commonwealth of Dominica, and the other is Saint Kitts and Nevis.
