However, many find the education system in Cyprus to be quite unfamiliar, with numerous gaps in understanding. Below is a compilation of questions that clients are concerned about.

Is a Cyprus degree recognized in China? Did you know that Cyprus is among the first group of 10 countries whose schools were listed by the Ministry of Education? These 10 countries are: the United States, Cyprus, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Greece, the Netherlands, Ireland, Malaysia, Norway, and South Africa. The countries we are familiar with, such as Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, were all in the second group. The University of Cyprus, the Cyprus University of Technology, and Frederick University of Cyprus are the three institutions listed on the Ministry of Education's website that can obtain education degree accreditation from the Chinese Ministry of Education. Notably, Frederick University of Cyprus is a private institution.
What is the quality of education in Cyprus? Cyprus joined the Commonwealth in 1961, maintaining an education system consistent with that of the United Kingdom, commonly adopting the Commonwealth education system. In 2004, after joining the European Union, the Cypriot Ministry of Education and Culture aligned the education system with EU standards to ensure the highest quality of education. Compared to other European countries, Cyprus has very high educational standards, with the majority of teaching staff having received professional training in developed countries in Europe and the United States. According to the latest statistics, the Cypriot government's public education expenditure accounts for 7.4% of GDP, ranking 20th out of 182 countries, which is higher than Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Switzerland.
Are tuition fees high in Cyprus? Cyprus implements 12 years of compulsory education, comprising six years of primary education and six years of secondary education, with public education being free for every student. Public schools primarily use the Greek language. However, public schools also have a high level of English education, enabling students to graduate without language barriers when applying to universities in the UK and other European countries. Tuition for private education, regardless of nationality, is borne by the students. Many private schools conduct lessons in English and offer a high quality of education. The general fee structure for private schools is as follows: kindergarten tuition is about 1500-4000 euros/year, primary school tuition is 5000-5500 euros/year, and secondary school tuition is 6000-8000 euros/year. Overall, the teaching standards in primary and secondary education, particularly in private schools, are quite impressive. There are also several specialized schools on the island offering courses primarily in hotel management, tourism, and MBA programs, and their diplomas are recognized by European countries. Universities and colleges typically require completion of about 16 credits annually, with each credit costing over 300 euros, leading to an annual tuition fee of approximately 5000-9000 euros.
Is it possible to transfer to universities in the UK and the US? Cyprus universities have a high degree of internationalization, with many of them mutually recognizing credits and degrees with universities in the US and the UK. Transfers between schools are also unrestricted. There are 25 English-speaking schools in Cyprus that offer internationally recognized degrees, and tuition fees are significantly lower than those in the US and the UK, costing less than half. Locally, some universities collaborate with British and American institutions to offer a 2+2 academic system, allowing students to obtain degrees directly from universities in the US and the UK upon graduation.
