Immigrate to Portugal and explore Portugal tourism attractions: Évora is a historic city in Portugal, founded during the Roman Empire in the 3rd century AD. After the fall of the Roman Empire, Évora was successively occupied by the Visigoths and the Moors. In 1165, the Portuguese royal family recaptured Évora from the Moors, and it subsequently became another residence for the Portuguese monarchy, with the kings spending even more time there than in Lisbon.

Évora is also a beautiful and charming small city, concentrating architectural styles and schools from the ancient Roman period to the Renaissance, and from the Visigoth to the Moorish eras. Around the 16th century, more than 50 churches and monasteries of various sizes stood within this small city of only 10 square kilometers. Founded in 1559, the University of Évora was a center of religion and culture at that time. Évora is also known as Portugal's museum city. Despite the vicissitudes of history, these cultural heritages have been relatively well-preserved, and it was listed as a World Heritage City in 1986.
